How to Disable Shutdown Button from Start menu in Windows 7

Prevent your computer to Shutdown from other user to Disable Shutdown button from start menu. Its a best way restrict guest user to shutdown your PC. Suppose you are administrator of your PC, Then you have authorized guest user to use your PC. Then with the help of Group policy editor you can restrict guest user to restart or shutdown. If you will disable shutdown button from start menu, Then Shutdown or restart option will not show on start menu.

1. Click on Start button, then Type in search box gpedit.msc, and Press Enter. To open Group Policy editor window.
Press Windows Key + R key from keyboard, then type gpedit.msc. Then Click on OK.

2. Local Computer Policy Editor windows Opened , then Navigate

User Configuration => Administrative Template => Start Menu and Task bar, then on the Right pane Double-Click on Remove and prevent access to the shutdown, Restart , Sleep and Hibernate command .

3. Click on Enable Radio button, then click on Apply , then OK

Now you will see change on Start Menu that Shut down and Restart button has been Disable. Now guest user only can switch user and lock down your PC. And your PC is Safe.
